Fat Tuesday Fun at Tech

WVU Tech’s Dining Services hosted a “Fat Tuesday – Top Chefs of Tech” dinner on Tuesday, February 16th, at the Bears Den dining hall on the Tech campus. This fun event provided students a “taste” of the Louisiana holiday with authentic Cajun food and entertainment.

WVU Tech Students to Assist with 2010 Income Tax Forms and Filings

Beginning Wednesday, January 27, accounting majors from the West Virginia University Institute of Technology’s Department of Finance and Accounting will be assisting elderly, disabled and low income clients from local communities with the preparation of their 2010 federal and state income tax forms.

Stephen Holcomb wins the Outstanding Accounting Senior Award for West Virginia University Institute of Technology

Stephen Holcomb, an accounting major and December 2009 graduate, was recently selected by the WV Society of CPAs as the Outstanding Accounting Senior for West Virginia University Institute of Technology. His selection was based on both his outstanding credentials and academic performance. As a recipient of this prestigious award, David Hill, President of WV Society of CPA’s presented Stephen with a plaque and a check for $250.

Rick Linio starts job as Tech's new Director of Facilities

On Tuesday, January 19th, Mr. Rick Linio joined West Virginia University Institute of Technology as Director of Facilities. Linio brings to WVU Tech over two decades of higher education experience in the Facilities, Management, Planning and Construction Management Industry. Most recently he was District Manager for the Northeast Region of Sodexo Education Facilities Management. Prior to that position he served as District Manager for ARAMARK Facility Services with Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Houston, Texas; Director of Operations for ARAMARK Facility Services at Baylor University, in Waco, Texas; and Director of Facilities Management for the Olympic Village Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, UT.
