West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech) is pleased to announce the hiring of Rachelle Beckner as the University’s new director of development. Prior to her appointment at WVU Tech, she was the senior development officer at the CAMC Foundation in Charleston, W.Va.
Her responsibilities at WVU Tech will include creating and implementing the University’s development program consisting of major gift solicitation, planned giving and annual giving.
“We look forward to having Rachelle join our administrative team,” CEO Carolyn Long said. “I’m confident that with her experience and dedication we will be able to launch a successful fundraising campaign that will provide additional support for our mission to ‘recruit, retain, and rebuild’ WVU Tech.”
Beckner holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from West Virginia University, and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She also has more than 10 years of successful fundraising experience with organizations such as the Kanawha County Public Library, YWCA of Charleston and the American Lung Association of West Virginia.
Beckner assumed her new role at the University on November 14, 2012.
