Tech holds transfer open house [The Register-Herald]

West Virginia University Institute of Technology hosted a transfer open house Wednesday on its campus in Montgomery for all students interested in transferring, but especially with Mountain State University students in mind.

Adrienne King, Director of Relations and Communications at WVU Tech, said their objective for the open house was to make sure students had all the resources they needed on hand to make the transfer process seamless.

Representatives from housing, financial aid, academic advising and some faculty members were on site to discuss options with students interested in transferring.

King said there are still both academic and athletic scholarships available and their representatives are trying to help students make the best decisions for their futures.

Many rumors have been circulating about MSU programs being taken over by other institutions, but King said WVU Tech has no plans at this point to take over the MSU Physician’s Assistant program.

Mountain State PA students do have some similar programs of study available at WVU Tech, according to King, including nursing and biology.

A biology degree can be tailored to a student’s specific interest, including pre-med, pre-veterinary, and pre-dental.

King said although they do not offer graduate level programs, students may be able to get a great deal of transfer credits for their courses at MSU.

“Our goal is to help as many students as we can.”
