Twelve Winning Seniors at Regional Math Field Day Will Receive Valuable Scholarships to WVU Institute of Technology

The six highest scoring seniors from RESA III and the six highest scoring seniors from RESA IV who compete in the Regional Math Field Day, held on March 12, 2010, will receive a valuable scholarship to WVU Institute of Technology.

Based upon the value of awards for the 2009-2010 academic year, Regional Math Field Day winners will receive $5,000 toward their freshman year at WVU Tech. (This is twice the amount of the Level 1 Scholarships that qualifying residents of West Virginia earn – or $2,500 times two.)

Winners will retain this scholarship award for a total of four contiguous years – if at least 24 credit hours are satisfactorily completed and a 3.0 overall grade point average is maintained each academic year. If the value of the Level 1 scholarship should increase, the value of this scholarship will increase proportionally.

While this scholarship may not be combined with other WVU Tech institutional awards, it may possibly be combined with awards from other sources, for example Tech Foundation scholarships, grants, the Promise Scholarship, etc.

To take advantage of this highly valuable scholarship, winners must apply to WVU Tech and, if they have not already done so, complete the 2010/2011 Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA).
